Amritsar witnessed a strong political statement today as BJP leader Tarun Chugh condemned the deteriorating security scenario in Punjab. He accused the state administration of allowing criminal elements to operate freely, citing multiple bomb blasts at police stations, an attack on police headquarters, and the killing of police personnel. Chugh described the current situation as deeply unfortunate and held the government directly accountable. He also expressed serious concern over the rampant drug addiction among Punjab’s youth, saying the state has plunged into a narcotics crisis. According to him, the government has completely failed in its responsibility to spread awareness. In response, the BJP has started a grassroots campaign encouraging people to abandon drugs and adopt a healthy lifestyle centered on milk products. Large groups of volunteers visited a popular lassi shop in Amritsar, distributing free servings and informing youngsters about the dangers of substance abuse. Packets of ghee were also given out to help build physical strength. Chugh said the party’s message is clear: Punjab’s young generation must choose progress over crime and addiction. He urged families and neighborhoods to actively guide children away from narcotics and toward nutritious, traditional foods that promote health and vitality.
