The recent order issued by the Supreme Court regarding stray dogs has sparked debate. While some welcome the decision, others have expressed reservations, leading to mixed reactions. Barun Das, the MD and CEO of TV9 Network, has also shared his perspectives on the matter.
Das stated that the behavior of stray dogs mirrors society. The Supreme Court has ordered that all stray dogs in Delhi-NCR be shifted to shelter homes within 8 weeks.
Barun Das emphasized that animals react when they perceive a threat. He noted that a dog’s reaction towards a visitor in a certain area reflects the living conditions of that society. He added that a dog’s attack on a child could possibly be a result of past mistreatment.
Das praised the Supreme Court’s decision, calling it a symbol of both relief and concern and a significant step towards public safety. However, he also said that the order should initiate a deeper discussion on the relationship between humans and animals, suggesting it goes beyond a mere legal directive and requires thoughtful consideration from everyone.
