Three Cattle Thieves Hurt in Mathura Police Firing

Mathura police engaged in a fierce gunfight with cattle smugglers on Monday, resulting in three criminals being shot and apprehended. The shootout took place in the Jait police station limits after officers stopped a suspicious vehicle during a routine patrol. Instead of surrendering, the smugglers opened fire, forcing the police to retaliate. All three suspects were hit in the legs and fell to the ground before being overpowered. From their possession, police seized cash worth Rs 1.40 lakh along with three illegal firearms and several rounds of ammunition. The injured were shifted to hospital for medical care under tight security. The police team is now tracing the remaining members of the gang and examining their past criminal records. Officials confirmed that the operation was part of intensified efforts to curb cattle theft and smuggling activities in the district.
