A stampede-like incident during a rally led by TVK (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam) chief and actor Vijay in Karur, Tamil Nadu, resulted in the loss of at least 36 lives, including 8 children and 16 women. Vijay conveyed his deep sorrow regarding the incident, stating his heart was shattered by the tragedy.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also shared his condolences on X, expressing sadness over the event in Karur. He extended his thoughts to the affected families, wishing them strength during this difficult time and praying for the injured’s swift recovery.
