Former NITI Aayog CEO and G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant stated that the tourism sector will be one of the largest engines for India’s future growth, generating 25 million jobs. Speaking at the TV9 Network Iconic Travel and Tourism Summit 2025 in New Delhi, Kant emphasized that India cannot achieve rapid development without excellence in travel, tourism, and creativity.
Congratulating the award winners, he described them as the foundation symbolizing both India’s soft and hard power. Highlighting that India is already a $4 trillion economy, Kant underscored the role of the tourism sector in achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of taking the economy beyond $30 trillion by 2047.
