Two Drug Lords Captured in Sangrur During State Anti‑Narcotics Drive

The Punjab anti‑drugs drive achieved a notable success on August 6 when Sangrur police arrested two prominent narcotics distributors, Simranjit Singh (Mogli) and Gurpreet Singh (Bhairo). The operation, overseen by SSP Dr. Ravjot Grewal, was the result of sustained surveillance and intelligence gathering.

Mogli’s residence yielded a cache of 510 grams of heroin, confirming his position as a chief supplier in the region. Information obtained during his questioning led officers to Bhairo’s location, where they confiscated three modern firearms, three live cartridges, and an additional 50 grams of heroin.

Both detainees carry extensive criminal histories. Mogli has four prior FIRs, while Bhairo is linked to sixteen FIRs spanning several districts. Bhairo is also a wanted man in several ongoing investigations and has previously served two prison sentences.

Further probing uncovered that Bhairo had spent time in Maharashtra and Gujarat, where he is believed to have engaged in drug trafficking activities. The discovery of advanced weaponry suggests that the gang was preparing for potential armed confrontations. Police hailed the bust as a milestone in Punjab’s ongoing battle against drug trafficking and related violent crime.
