Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami engaged in discussions with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi, focusing on significant matters pertaining to Uttarakhand. Dhami requested the integration of Ranikhet and Lansdowne Cantonment areas into municipal corporations, aiming to boost tourism and improve public amenities. He also sought permission to utilize military helipads in Dharchula and Joshimath for RCS air services and requested a waiver of fees for the Indian Air Force’s disaster relief efforts. Furthermore, the Chief Minister advocated for the Public Works Department to manage the Tharali Dewal-Mundoli-Van motor road, crucial for the Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra scheduled for 2026. The Defence Minister assured positive consideration of the proposals. Separately, Dhami met with Union Energy and Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal, requesting special assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and the development of hydroelectric projects. He also proposed automating power lines in the Rishikesh-Haridwar area and sought viability gap funds for hydroelectric and pump storage projects, as well as approval for two Pitkul projects. Additionally, he addressed challenges in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and proposed changes to the financial assistance system for projects on private land. Finally, he advocated for extending the RRTS to Haridwar.
