Uttarakhand Faces Flood Threats, Roads Slowed, Residents Urged to Stay Home

Mountain streams and riverbanks across several districts are breaching their banks, prompting fears of localized flooding. Vehicles moving on key routes report reduced speeds as water levels rise. Disaster‑relief forces, SDRF and NDRF units, have been placed on high alert, ready to respond to any emergency. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami instructed the state’s disaster management secretary to maintain the high‑alert status and reminded citizens and tourists to exercise extreme caution.
