Authorities confirmed nine fatalities following the collapse of a section of the Gambhira bridge in Vadodara, Gujarat. SP Rohan Anand reported that a slab, approximately 10-15 meters in length, gave way, causing several vehicles to plunge into the river below. Rescue operations are ongoing, with teams working to retrieve remaining vehicles and assist survivors. The incident has prompted a swift response from local authorities and the NDRF. Union Home Minister Amit Shah conveyed his sorrow, assuring that relief and rescue efforts are in full swing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced financial aid for the victims’ families and the injured.
