A bomb threat targeting the Chennai residence of Vice President C P Radhakrishnan has been declared a hoax by local police. The alarming email was received by the Assistant Commissioner of Police’s office, triggering an immediate response. A specialized team, comprising Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) experts and a sniffer dog, was dispatched to the Vice President’s Poes Garden home for a comprehensive security sweep. Following an extensive search, authorities confirmed that no suspicious items were found and the threat was unsubstantiated. This incident follows a pattern of similar hoax threats that Chennai police have been investigating over the past month, with efforts underway to apprehend the individuals responsible. In a separate but related incident, a student in Delhi sent a bomb threat to their school to avoid exams, underscoring a growing trend of such false alarms.
