Following a month of heavy rainfall, Delhi anticipates a shift in weather patterns. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts thundershowers for Monday, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected around 35°C and 24°C, respectively. The Yamuna River’s water levels have receded, though floodplains remain partially submerged. The air quality in Delhi is satisfactory, but the Air Quality Early Warning System (AQEWS) predicts a deterioration to the ‘moderate’ category. Northern India, still recovering from recent floods, sees easing of heavy rains, providing relief to regions like Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Gujarat faces a contrasting monsoon with floods in some areas and dryness in others. The IMD has issued alerts due to a developing depression. Fishermen are advised to stay away from the sea. Rescue operations are ongoing, with NDRF and SDRF teams managing evacuations. The Indian Army is assisting in Punjab with relief efforts.
