The wait is over for thousands of West Bengal students. The WBCHSE announced the 2026 Higher Secondary results on its official website Thursday, boasting an impressive overall pass rate of 91.23%. This year's outcomes highlight the resilience and excellence of the state's education system. Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission's Adrito Paul dominated the leaderboard with 496/500 marks for the top rank. Megha Majumdar from Shrirampur Ramesh Chandra Girls High School earned fifth place overall with 492 marks, topping among girls. Nine students made it to the top three: Adrito at 99.2%, three at 99% for second (Jishnu Kundu, Ritobrata Nath, Aithya Pacchal), and five at 98.8% for third (Debapriya Maji, Tanmay Mandal, Soumya Roy, Subhayan Mandal, Pritam Ballav). Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari made the day even more special by video calling the first and fifth rankers, sharing warm wishes with them and their families. His personal touch added a layer of inspiration to their achievements. On X, Adhikari shared a motivational message: 'Congratulations to every student who succeeded in the HS exams. Your perseverance turns dreams into reality. Aim high, succeed everywhere, and honor your loved ones and Bengal.' Conducted between February 12 and March 27 with over 7 lakh participants, these results pave the way for college admissions and future careers. Families rejoice, and educators celebrate a cohort ready to excel.
