West Central Railway in Bhopal has initiated a new passenger identity verification process utilizing the mAadhaar mobile application. This initiative aligns with recent directives from the Railway Board. The implementation aims to deter unauthorized travel and prevent fraudulent activities involving fake Aadhaar cards or misuse of tickets. The mAadhaar app, developed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), will facilitate real-time identity authentication through QR code-based verification. This technology will soon be integrated into Handheld Terminals (HHT devices) to further ensure passenger identity and prevent misuse of reserved tickets.
