A 21-year-old female security guard employed at a newly opened mall in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra, has alleged sexual assault by her senior officer. The incident led to the arrest of the accused, identified as 45-year-old Manoj Kadam, by the Wakad Police. The assault reportedly took place on September 10th, with the case being registered late on September 11th. According to police reports, Kadam is a resident of the Chikhali area within Pimpri Chinchwad. The investigation is being handled by the Detection Branch (DB) of the Wakad Police Station. The officer allegedly lured the victim to the third floor of the mall under the guise of an ‘important client visit,’ where he subsequently attempted to coerce her with promises of promotion and a salary increase before initiating inappropriate physical contact. The guard resisted and escaped the situation. Despite alleged threats, she reported the incident to the police the following day, with the support of her husband and colleagues. Kadam has been charged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), specifically Sections 64, 68(A), and 68(c). Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
