The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has greenlit a new affordable housing initiative catering to the economically weaker sections (EWS) and plans for an entertainment zone. This was decided in its 85th board meeting. The plans include a golf course, gymkhana, and a Delhi Haat, all located near the upcoming Noida International Airport. A total of 30,000 residential plots, each 30 square meters, will be allocated to EWS families with an annual income below Rs 3 lakh. The first phase will see the release of 4,268 plots in Sectors 17, 18, and 20. The meeting, led by YEIDA Chairman Alok Kumar, also authorized a new police station and two fire stations, with recreational facilities planned. These developments are earmarked for ‘recreational green zones’ in the 2041 Master Plan, aiming to establish the region as a major business and leisure destination, especially given its proximity to the airport.
