Yellow Alert Extended Amid Scorching NCR Heat

The capital and its surrounding areas remain under a strict yellow alert as extreme heat continues to dominate weather patterns. Forecasts indicate that daytime temperatures will stay near 44 degrees Celsius through Wednesday, with nighttime lows refusing to drop below 30 degrees, creating uncomfortable conditions round the clock. Health officials have reiterated standard heatwave precautions, advising people to avoid direct sunlight between noon and 4 pm when surface winds are expected to carry additional hot air. Public parks and outdoor markets have seen reduced footfall as residents adjust schedules to escape the punishing conditions. Relief is on the horizon, however. From Thursday evening onward, models suggest the arrival of moisture-laden winds that could trigger isolated thunderstorms and lower maximum temperatures by several degrees. By Friday, temperatures are projected to settle near 36 degrees, accompanied by gusty winds and brief spells of rain. Experts say the upcoming western disturbance will also increase humidity levels, potentially making the post-heatwave period feel more pleasant despite occasional thundershowers.
