According to the release issued by the Office of Deputy Director Social Welfare, International Drug Prevention Day will be organized on 26 June to develop wide public opinion against drug addiction. The purpose of which is to prevent the tendency to drink and to create a positive environment in favor of de-addiction in the society. On this occasion, drug de-addiction program will be broadcast through radio and Doordarshan and in coordination with all the departments operating in the district, proper action against drug addiction, communication with drug victims, information about the ill-effects of intoxication, as well as magazines related to drug de-addiction. Distribution will also be done. Apart from this, public awareness regarding non-drug addiction will be run through various messaging programmes.
