State government will take up work of recharging all the rivulets existing in state, said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel while addressing a function in village Tarra of Patan development block in Durg district on Sunday.
Chandranahu Kshatriya Samaj felicitated Chief Minister on the occasion.
Sharing his experience, Chief Minister said, “When I was minister in previous Congress government in state, then I had made plan to recharge few of rivulets. The works of recharging of rivulets were undertaken in Patan area, where the groundwater level had increased.”
He further said, “For increasing ground level water, recharging the rivulet is the best option. This will not bring the land of farmers under submergence area like that of dams. It helps to maintain humidity in soil. It is beneficial for the crop.”
Making a call to villagers, Baghel said, “There is need to make the cattle resources as power centre. Keep a small area for cow-shed and larger section of land for grazing for cattle. It will work as lifeline for the farmers. It will facilitate to generate organic fertilizers and biogas.
