Chhattisgarh CM to present Budget today

The Budget Session of Chhattisgarh State Assembly will be held from February 8 to March 8. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who also holds finance portfolio, would present the annual budget for 2019-20 on the opening day of the Budget Session on Friday.

Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Charandas Mahant while addressing a press conference on Thursday informed that discussions on budget will commence from February 13.

Meanwhile, the Budget Session commencing on Friday is expected to be stormy as the opposition BJP has devised strategy to attack the new Congress regime for carrying out allegedly political vendetta against the key people of the previous regime including the former Chief Minister Raman Singh.

The BJP and Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) would leave no stone unturned to grill the state government for its pre-poll promises such as blanket ban on liquor and slashing power tariff by 50 percent.
