Govindpur Police have launched a significant crackdown on the escalating drug trade, apprehending four individuals actively involved in the sale and purchase of brown sugar. This successful operation, aimed at curbing the proliferation of narcotics in the region, resulted in the seizure of 81 packets of brown sugar, cash amounting to ₹2,550, and four mobile phones. The arrested individuals have been identified as Gaurav Kumar alias Amar (26) from Sheshnagar, Govindpur, Mohammad Imran (21) from Carriage Colony, Burma Mines, Jambhuvan Mahto (24) from Tamulia, and Lalan Manjhi (28) from Tamulia, both residents of Kapaali, Seraikela-Kharsawan. This proactive measure by the police highlights their commitment to maintaining a drug-free environment. Further investigations are underway to dismantle the entire network responsible for supplying these illicit substances. The authorities have assured the public that such rigorous campaigns against drug trafficking will persist.
