Actress Mehreen Pirzada has strongly criticized IndiGo Airlines, calling its operational issues ‘unacceptable’ and demanding accountability. Pirzada took to social media to express her extreme frustration after experiencing last-minute flight cancellations. She highlighted that passengers were left stranded at airports for days, with the IndiGo app misleadingly showing flights as ‘on time’ until the very moment of boarding, only for them to be cancelled. Pirzada labeled this situation not as a glitch but as sheer negligence. She urged the airline to ‘own up, explain what’s happening, and compensate the people you’ve stranded.’ The actress emphasized that with new Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) regulations, IndiGo should have rectified its schedules rather than deceiving customers. The airline has been experiencing significant disruptions, with hundreds of flights cancelled and delayed daily. The Ministry of Civil Aviation is reportedly monitoring IndiGo’s recovery efforts and passenger support closely, having convened a high-level meeting with airline management and aviation authorities to address the ongoing crisis.
