Public Works Department instructs all from SDO to ENC to remain at headquarters

Contractors asked to be paid every month Raipur. May 22, 2026. The Public Works Department has instructed all its Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) up to the Chief Engineer (ENC) to remain at their headquarters. The department has issued these instructions to ensure the quality and timeliness of under-construction works, intensive monitoring of works, and immediate commencement of sanctioned works. Secretary of the Public Works Department, Mr. Mukesh Kumar Bansal, has asked to ensure monthly payment to construction agencies and contractors based on the work done by them. For timely payment to contractors, he has instructed the Chief Engineer to allocate the necessary amount for every three months' payment to the concerned Executive Engineers instead of individual bills.
