A pall of gloom has descended upon Hazaribagh’s Sirsi Ward 33 after the body of a young man was discovered on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Jitu Paswan, son of the late Bhubaneswar Paswan. The grim discovery quickly drew a crowd of local residents, who promptly alerted the authorities. Police from the Katkamdag police station arrived at the scene, secured the body, and initiated an investigation.
According to community members, Jitu Paswan earned his livelihood by preparing and selling chow mein. He reportedly spent a significant amount of time away from home, having recently returned. It is understood that Jitu often experienced mental distress due to challenging family circumstances.
Further information suggests that his wife had been living separately from him for an extended period, and he also faced disputes with other family members. These ongoing personal issues are believed to have contributed to his mental anguish. Local sources also indicated that Jitu struggled with substance abuse, which exacerbated his sadness. The combination of addiction and domestic discord is considered a significant factor in his deteriorated mental state.
Preliminary police assessments point towards suicide as the cause of death. However, officials have emphasized that the official cause will only be confirmed after the post-mortem examination report is received. Investigators are meticulously collecting evidence from the site as part of their ongoing inquiry.
Station House Officer Pramod Kumar Ray confirmed that the body has been sent to Sadar Hospital for examination. Legal proceedings will be undertaken based on the statements of the family and the gathered evidence. The incident has cast a shadow of sorrow and tension over the locality as police delve into all possible angles of the case.
