
With regard to celebrating the festival of colors Holi in a peaceful atmosphere in the district, a meeting of the peace committee was organized at New Circuit House Bemetara on Saturday as per the instructions of Collector Mr. Padum Singh Elma. Congratulating the upcoming Holi festival, Sub-Divisional Officer Revenue Bemetara Suruchi Singh said in the meeting that the festival of Holi is a festival of mutual harmony. Holi festival should be celebrated in a cordial atmosphere and asked to keep a close watch on anti-social elements. He said that during Holi festival, DJ should be operated according to the prescribed rules and instructed not to play provocative and obscene songs. Police will keep a close watch on mischievous elements on the occasion of Holi festival. Keeping in mind the board examination, the Noise Control Act is effective in the district. For the use of musical instruments and sound systems, permission will have to be obtained from the competent authority (the concerned SDM). Do not post any objectionable content on social media during Holi festival, posting objectionable posts comes under the category of serious matters and is also a punishable offence. He urged to maintain social harmony at all costs. On this occasion, he also gave information regarding the preparations being made by the district and police administration to conduct the festival of Holi in a peaceful and safe manner and appealed to inform the district collector and superintendent of police about those who disturb social harmony. The SDM appealed to the common citizens of the district to celebrate the festival with peaceful atmosphere and brotherhood.
