The all-party meeting, convened by J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah, on Thursday passed a resolution condemning the Pahalgam attack on tourists and supported the steps taken by the Government of India against Pakistan.
All political parties also urged various state governments and Union territories across the country to ensure safety of Kashmiris as several reports of harassment and attacks, including on students in different parts of India were reported throughout the day. The government issued helplines to report and seek help in case of any problems faced by Kashmiris anywhere. “We unequivocally condemn…the heinous, inhumane attack…that targeted and killed innocent civilians. Such cowardly acts of brutality against peaceful citizens have no place in society and are a direct assault on the values of Kashmiriyat…,” read the resolution.
