Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Dy CM DK Shivakumar on Wednesday hailed the precision strikes on terror sites in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and inside the Pakistan territory by the Indian defence forces calling the brave act as “a decisive blow to cross-border terrorism.”They announced Karnataka’s full backing to the Union Government’s decisions and actions. “Our soldiers have shown extraordinary courage by hitting terror hubs inside enemy territory,” Siddaramaiah said at a media conference. The CM pledged his government’s support to the Centre’s decision while calling for national unity at this hour. “This is not the time for politics but for standing together as Indians.”The Congress party cancelled its “save the Constitution” event in Raichur on hearing the news of the action on Pakistan and the CM cancelled his trip. “We cancelled the protest in Raichur against price rise in view of the retaliatory attacks. We don’t want to do politics now, and we strongly stand by the defence forces and the government,” Shivakumar, who is also the president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Party (KPCC) said.

The Dy CM called the operation an appropriate response to the “cowardly terrorist attack in Jammu & Kashmir.

Throwing his weight behind the Centre’s actions, Siddaramaiah said, “Pakistan’s continued support to militants left us with no choice. These strikes send a clear message—India will retaliate fiercely…Our forces executed the mission flawlessly, targeting only terrorists.” India’s actions were in retaliation for the recent attack on innocent tourists at Pahalgam, he said. “The world knows Pakistan shelters terrorists. India’s strikes were justified and necessary.” Karnataka was closely coordinating with the Centre and has ramped up security. “We are vigilant, and citizens should remain calm,” Siddaramaiah said.

The response of Indian defence forces was a stern warning not just to Pakistan but to any country backing terrorism against India.
