BJP leaders held a protest over the alleged connection of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land scam case in Bengaluru on August 19. Leaders were seen holding placards, raising slogans and demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. “…As the Governor has ordered prosecution, we demand the resignation of CM Siddaramaiah. We will not be afraid of the blackmail by Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar…Our battle has been going on for the past 3 months…Now, when the Governor was convinced and sanction was accorded for prosecution, Congress and Siddaramaiah are making it a political issue…We cannot expect the demand of Siddaramaiah’s resignation from Rahul Gandhi as the money that has been looted has already reached Gandhi family…,” said Vijayendra Yediyurappa. “…There are allegations of corruption on CM Siddaramaiah. MUDA scam has happened everyone knows about it…The Governor has given an order according to the Constitution of India. We are here to remind Congress about what they said when they were in opposition. The position of Governor is a constitutional position. So, protesting against his order is wrong…,” said CT Ravi. “We have been doing it (protesting) for last several days. The Governor has permitted prosecution. It is high time for the CM to step down…,” said Sadananda Gowda.
