Australia has revealed its squad for the upcoming T20 series against New Zealand scheduled for October. The Australian team, captained by Mitchell Marsh, includes 14 players who will be touring New Zealand next month. A significant development is the return of 36-year-old all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, who has been out of the team for nine months. Australia is set to play a three-match T20 series in New Zealand, commencing on October 1st. Stoinis’s inclusion suggests he’s in contention for the T20 World Cup next year, and he is expected to bolster the middle order, offering both batting and bowling capabilities. In T20 cricket, Stoinis has amassed over 6800 runs in 340 matches, including 310 sixes. He has also taken 179 wickets in T20s, 45 of which are in international matches. Mitch Owen and Matthew Short have also made the team. Notably, players like Nathan Ellis, Alex Carey, Aaron Hardie, and Cameron Green have been omitted from the squad.
