Bahamas Sprint Star Joins Delhi Half Marathon as International Event Ambassador

Delhi’s annual half‑marathon is set to feature a new face of inspiration: Shawn Miller‑Uibo, the Bahamas’ celebrated 400‑metre champion, has been named the International Event Ambassador for the 2026 race.

Having captured Olympic gold in both Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, Miller‑Uibo brings a wealth of experience to a competition that draws elite athletes, fitness enthusiasts and casual runners alike.

Her athletic credentials extend beyond the Olympics. She took silver at the World Championships in 2015 and 2019, lifted the world title in 2022, and earned a bronze in the 200 metres in 2017. Her 21.74‑second personal best remains the Bahamian national record for the 200 metres.

The sprinter’s journey began at the University of Georgia, where she first appeared on the international stage, later winning the 200‑metre at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and contributing to a mixed‑relay gold for the Bahamas.

Miller‑Uibo highlighted the significance of the assignment, noting, “Participating in Delhi’s half‑marathon is more than a race; it’s an opportunity to inspire a community that values perseverance and togetherness.”
