Barbados tumble at 112/9 as Trinidad chase 148 to clinch win

The 27th fixture of the CPL 2026 unfolded at Kingston Oval, where the Trinidad Night Riders faced the Barbados Tridents. After opting to bowl first, Barbados allowed Trinidad to compile 147 runs for six wickets. Nicholas Pooran was the standout with a rapid 59 off 37 balls, blasting seven sixes and two fours. Colin Munro's 38 from 32 balls added momentum, while Kiron Polard (15) and Joshua da Silva (10) also contributed.

Chasing a target of 148, Barbados struggled from the outset. By the 18.3‑over mark, the side was 112 for nine and eventually fell 35 runs short. The innings' top scorers were Jakeri Carter and Sherfen Raderford, each making 21. Daniel Samms managed 17, while Brandon Kings and Sadrach Descartes added 16 each. Early wickets were taken by Goodacess Moti (3), Mujib ur Rahman (2) and Jakim Polard (1).

Trinidad's bowlers delivered the decisive blow. Sunil Naren's spell of 3.3 overs yielded just 12 runs and four wickets, earning him Player of the Match honors. Zed Guli supported with three for 20 in four overs, and Lahiru Kumara and Akil Hussain took two and one wicket respectively.

The win lifts Trinidad to sixth place with six points after their third success of the season. Barbados, after four defeats in six matches, remains at the bottom with four points. The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons continue to dominate the table with eleven points from five victories.
