India emerged victorious in the 2025 Asia Cup, triumphing over Pakistan in the final match on September 28 with a five-wicket win. This marked India’s ninth title win in the tournament. However, despite their achievement, the Indian cricket team was not presented with their medals or the coveted Asia Cup trophy. Reports indicate that Mohsin Naqvi, the chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), has retained the trophy. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has expressed strong disapproval regarding this matter during its Annual General Meeting (AGM). BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla criticized Mohsin Naqvi, emphasizing that the Asia Cup trophy is not an individual possession and should be immediately handed over to the winning team.
