Following wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant’s recent serious injuries during the England tour, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced a new rule. Pant sustained a finger injury during wicketkeeping in the Lord’s Test and a serious leg injury in the Manchester Test, forcing him to leave the field. Pant’s injuries raised concerns for Team India in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series. As a result, the BCCI has implemented a new rule ahead of the upcoming domestic season.
