New Delhi. Taking a big step, the Government of India has canceled the recognition of the Indian Wrestling Association. The government has taken this step two days after the election of the new president of the federation.
The Sports Ministry said in its official release that the association announced the national competitions in a hurry and proper procedure was not followed. The ministry has also suspended the entire new executive along with newly elected chairman Sanjay Singh. With this, the implementation of all the decisions taken by Sanjay Singh has been put on hold.
Let us tell you that after leaving the post of former Wrestling Association President Brij Bhushan Singh, a controversy had arisen when his close friend Sanjay Singh won the election. Wrestler Sakshi Malik has announced her retirement from the sport in the press conference, while wrestler Bajrang Punia has returned his Padma Shri.
