Board’s AGM highlights inclusive initiatives for differently‑abled players

The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s 95th Annual General Meeting, convened in Mumbai, placed a strong emphasis on expanding opportunities for differently‑abled cricketers. Former disabled player Ravikant Chauhan thanked ICC Chairman Jay Shah and the BCCI for their dedication to the cause, noting that recent policies have boosted morale among athletes.

State cricket bodies were urged to adopt active roles in the development of disabled cricket, ensuring that facilities, equipment and coaching resources are made available. The DCCI’s approval of the BCCI’s structured support for the Cricket Association for the Blind in India earlier this year was highlighted as a pivotal step toward inclusive sport.

Chauhan praised the collaborative approach, stating that the joint commitment of the ICC and BCCI is creating a clear, progressive pathway for disabled cricketers nationwide.
