Central Delhi Kings fall short as South Delhi Superstars chase down 183

NEW DELHI, August 31 (Reuters) – Central Delhi Kings could not defend their total of 182 runs in the DPL 2026 final, falling seven wickets short to South Delhi Superstars at the Arun Jethli Stadium. The Kings lost the toss and were bowled out after 20 overs, losing eight wickets. Early trouble came when Siddharth June was dismissed for five, followed by a 82‑run partnership between Sanjay and Samarth Singh that steadied the innings.

The partnership broke at 98 runs for four wickets, and a brief resurgence by captain Jonti Soodi and Aditya Bhandari added 44 runs, taking the score to 142. A rapid 23‑run burst from Bhandari and Money Graywal in nine balls pushed the total to a competitive 182.

Among the Kings' bowlers, Divansh Rawat, Vision Pachhal and others claimed three wickets each. However, the chase was anchored by Ankit Dubas, who scored an unbeaten 62, and Anmol Sharma, whose 62 included three sixes. The Superstars reached the target in 18.2 overs, clinching the DPL 2026 title.

Dubas was awarded Player of the Match for his unbeaten 62 and a wicket, capping off a dominant performance by South Delhi Superstars.
