Chinese Team Sets World Record; India Takes Silver in 10m Air Rifle

At the Asian Games 2026 shooting arena in Nagoya, the Chinese men’s 10‑metre air‑rifle team set a new world record of 1,899.0 points, clinching gold. India’s trio of Himanshu Dhillon, Parth Mane and Rudraksh Patil followed closely with 1,890.1 points to secure the silver medal.

Patil’s 631.8 in the 60‑shot qualifier placed him third, while Dhillon’s 630 and Mane’s 628.3 secured seventh and a lower rank, respectively. All three qualified for the individual finals, showcasing India’s consistency across the board.

South Korea completed the podium with a bronze score of 1,884.2 points. The event added to India’s tally of three silver medals, all earned in shooting, and underscored the nation’s competitive edge against the region’s shooting powerhouses.

Earlier in the competition, Ilavenil Valarivan earned two silvers, reinforcing India’s strong start in the Games’ shooting events.
