Coco Gauff has secured her first-ever French Open women’s singles title, marking a historic moment in her career. The 21-year-old American tennis star triumphed over World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in a captivating final held on Court Philippe-Chatrier. Gauff’s victory came after a remarkable comeback, with a final score of 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-4. This win also represents Gauff’s second Grand Slam title, following her success at the 2023 US Open, where she also defeated Sabalenka. The victory is particularly sweet as it’s Gauff’s first title on clay this season, having previously lost in the finals of the Rome Open and Madrid Open. Furthermore, Gauff now leads Sabalenka 6-5 in their head-to-head matches.
