Dalip Trophy Final: East Zone Dominates with 385-4, Kishan Unbeaten 111

Chennai, September 6 – The Dalip Trophy 2026 final saw East Zone post a dominant total of 385 for four at the MA Chidambaram Stadium by the end of Day One.

Choosing to bat after winning the toss, the top order displayed resilience. Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Abhimanyu Eshwaran combined for a 100‑run partnership over 88 balls. Vaibhav’s 44 off 37 included a six and five fours before his dismissal.

Eshwaran then added 33 runs with Shikhar Mohan and later compiled 72 runs off 86 balls, featuring a six and ten fours, before falling.

A wicket fell at 147 when Sudip Kumar (6) was caught. Captain Ishan Kishan then anchored the innings, sharing a 94‑run stand with Shikhar Mohan for the fourth wicket, which took the score past the 200‑run threshold.

Shikhar’s aggressive 85, containing three sixes and nine fours, set the stage for Kishan’s unbeaten 111. Kishan faced 135 deliveries, struck fifteen boundaries and, together with Kumar Kushagra’s 63 (five sixes, four fours), elevated the total to 385/4.

East Zone’s XI featured Abhimanyu Eshwaran, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Kumar Kushagra, Sudip Kumar Gharami, Shikhar Mohan, captain‑keeper Ishan Kishan, Mohammad Kaunain Qureshi, Anukool Roy, Mohammad Shami, Abhijit Sarkar and Mukesh Kumar.
