Delhi Hosts Shotgun Skeet and Trap Camps for Asian Games Preparation

Shotgun shooters preparing for the 2026 Asian Games will converge on New Delhi’s Karni Singh Shooting Range for two back‑to‑back camps.

The skeet camp runs from September 4 to 14, while the trap camp follows from September 10 to 18, allowing athletes to focus on event‑specific drills and live‑fire scenarios.

The Indian trap men’s team – Kinan Chenai, Ahvar Rizvi and Shapath Bharadwaj – along with the women’s squad of Neeru, Manisha Kheer and Aishma Ahlawat, will benefit from newly installed target‑launch systems and high‑speed video feedback.

Senior coach of the shotgun unit highlighted that “the proximity of the two camps lets us fine‑tune transitions between skeet and trap, which is vital for the mixed‑team events scheduled at the Games.”

NRAI’s logistics team has coordinated accommodation, nutrition and transport to ensure athletes can concentrate solely on performance.

According to NRAI officials, the camps will also incorporate sports‑psychology sessions to enhance focus under pressure, a key factor in the short‑lasting shotgun matches at Aichi.
