Chennai – The East Zone broke a 13‑year title drought by seizing the Dalip Trophy with a staggering 708‑run first‑innings total at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Captain Ishan Kishan’s 270 made headlines, while the rest of the batting order contributed solid partnerships to build a formidable score.

South Zone responded with 336 all out in their first innings, their captain Tilak Varma scoring a near‑century (99) but lacking support from the rest of the lineup. The massive lead of 372 runs gave East Zone a comfortable platform, and they added 388 for 7 in the second innings to clinch the match.
