The second season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) began on a disappointing note for Old Delhi 6. The team faced a crushing 82-run defeat against Outer Delhi Warriors in their opening match. However, a young player showcased his talent in the contest. Young all-rounder Uddhav Mohan delivered a brilliant performance in his debut match, claiming 5 wickets. He made headlines in his very first DPL match.
Uddhav Mohan’s Explosive Performance
In the thrilling match held at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Uddhav Mohan grabbed everyone’s attention with his bowling. In his 4-over spell, he conceded only 26 runs while taking 5 crucial wickets. His fast and accurate bowling troubled the Outer Delhi Warriors’ batsmen. However, Old Delhi 6 lost the match due to a lack of support from the other players. It was due to Uddhav’s bowling that Old Delhi 6 managed to restrict Outer Delhi Warriors to 148 runs. But in response, Old Delhi 6 could only score 66 runs.
Uddhav Mohan’s special connection to Virat Kohli
Uddhav Mohan’s name is in the news today, partly due to his connection with Virat Kohli. Uddhav belongs to the West Delhi Cricket Academy (WDCA), which was also the training ground for Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli. Kohli laid the foundation of his career in this academy, and now Uddhav has emerged as a gem from the same soil. Uddhav, who is trained under the guidance of Kohli’s coach Rajkumar Sharma, is an inspiration to many.
Opportunity in the Indian team for Australia tour
Uddhav Mohan recently made a place in India’s Under-19 team, where he is set to showcase his talent on the upcoming Australia tour next month. Uddhav was also in high demand during the Delhi Premier League auction. Uddhav Mohan was bought by Old Delhi 6 for Rs 6.60 lakh during the auction.
