Experienced seamer Tom Kran adds pace and batting depth to Brisbane Heat squad

Brisbane Heat has bolstered its roster with the acquisition of England’s seasoned seamer Tom Kran for the upcoming BBL 16 campaign. The 31‑year‑old fast‑bowler is expected to deliver consistent wicket‑taking deliveries and strengthen the team’s lower‑order batting.

Kran’s BBL statistics feature 52 matches, 72 wickets at an average of 20.61, and 501 runs scored at 20.04 across 36 innings. On the global stage he boasts 290 T20 internationals, accumulating 2,705 runs and 297 wickets while maintaining an economy of 8.83.

Coach James Hopes, who previously oversaw Kran at Delhi Capitals, praised the new signing. He highlighted Kran’s competitive temperament and the positive influence his enthusiasm has on peers. Hopes also cited Kran’s recent Euro League spell for Edinburgh, where the English bowler captured ten wickets in just four games.

The coach believes Kran will enjoy the challenge of bowling at the Gabba and can affect matches with the bat in a manner comparable to Michael Neser, providing a dual threat for the Heat.
