Football Fans in Bangalore Can Eat Until 3:30 AM, Police Announce
In response to the growing enthusiasm for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Bangalore police have authorised food service in hotels and restaurants up to 3:30 a.m. on the three days when the semi‑finals and final are played. The directive follows a request by the National Restaurant Association of India and is backed by the Karnataka Police Act.
The city’s open‑air and rooftop venues are already showing live matches, and many supporters have been staying awake through the night. The new provision guarantees that eateries can continue serving dishes, snacks and beverages as fans cheer on France, Spain, England and Germany.
The tournament is now in its decisive phase, with only four games left. The first semi‑final between France and Spain starts at 12:30 a.m. IST on Wednesday, followed by England vs Germany on Thursday. A third‑place play‑off is scheduled for July 19, and the final will be contested on July 20.
