Gold goes to England's Emily Campbell as Martina Devi falls short

Emily Campbell of England dominated the women’s 86+ kg weightlifting event at the Commonwealth Games, setting a new Games record with a total lift of 278 kg. Her snatch of 115 kg was followed by clean‑and‑jerk lifts of 148 kg, 155 kg and a record‑breaking 163 kg.

India’s Martina Devi Mabam, despite a determined effort, managed 245 kg, landing her in fifth place and missing the bronze by a narrow margin. Malaysia’s Siti Akilah Farhana earned silver with a 253 kg total, while Canada’s Eta secured bronze with 250 kg.

Campbell’s triumph added to England’s medal haul, while India’s overall tally now includes fifteen medals across the Games.
