Gujarat Prepares to Host 100th Commonwealth Games with Youth‑Centred Infrastructure

Gujarat is accelerating preparations for the centennial Commonwealth Games scheduled for 2030, positioning the state as a hub of youthful energy and modern sports infrastructure.

Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi told reporters that the state’s vision was born from a shared dream among its young population, reinforced by the enthusiastic response at the Ahmedabad Experience Center in Glasgow.

More than 5,000 registrations, federation delegations and athletes participated in the 2026 Games, signaling a solid foundation for future growth.

Sanghvi thanked Prime Minister Modi and the nation’s youth for their foresight, which catalysed the rapid construction of world‑class stadiums, training centres and athlete villages.

The swift progress allowed Gujarat to host the National Games within a 100‑day window, establishing a template for the large‑scale logistics of the 2030 Commonwealth Games.

He also highlighted that Gujarat’s rich culinary traditions and cultural warmth will be on full display through the Ahmedabad Experience Center, providing visitors a taste of authentic local flavors.

In his closing remarks, Sanghvi invited global sporting bodies to treat Gujarat as a family, promising an enthusiastic and inclusive environment for the historic 2030 Games.
