Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has voiced his disapproval of Mohsin Naqvi’s actions following India’s victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup final. The match, held on September 28 at the Dubai International Stadium, saw India emerge victorious by five wickets. However, the trophy presentation was marred by an unusual incident. Suryakumar Yadav and the Indian team declined to accept the trophy from Naqvi, who serves as both the chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). This standoff led to the abrupt end of the ceremony, with Naqvi reportedly refusing to hand over the trophy. While individual awards were presented, the Asia Cup trophy was not officially given to India. Naqvi was later seen leaving the ground with the trophy, which is currently held at the ACC headquarters, though he expressed his intention to eventually present it to India. Harbhajan Singh criticized Naqvi’s decision, stating that the drama was unnecessary, and Naqvi did not have the authority to decide whether India should receive the trophy. Singh emphasized that India’s victory was the most significant achievement and the trophy would eventually be awarded to them.
