Pakistan cricket team pacer Haris Rauf clarified that his teammates remained unfazed by the off-field controversies. The situation arose after the India vs. Pakistan match, where Indian players did not shake hands with their Pakistani counterparts. This action reportedly angered the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), along with head coach Mike Hesson and captain Salman Ali Agha. In response, Agha skipped the post-match presentation, and the PCB lodged a complaint against match referee Andy Pycroft. Despite threats to boycott the Asia Cup 2025 if Pycroft wasn’t replaced, the ICC rejected the PCB’s request. Before the match against the UAE, the Pakistan team faced internal discussions about whether to play. Reports indicate Pycroft apologized, leading Pakistan to participate in the match. Haris Rauf stated he felt no pressure, viewing the situation as beyond his control and focused on playing. He highlighted the importance of making the most of opportunities and acknowledged the team’s preparation for upcoming matches.
