This crucial win ends the Steelers’ five-game losing streak and propels them to sixth place in the league standings. Star defender Jaideep Dahiya was instrumental, securing a High Five with six successful tackles, while Shivam Patare delivered a stellar offensive performance, achieving his Super 10. Despite an outstanding 17 points from Ayan Lohchab, the Patna Pirates couldn’t secure the win.
The match began with a close contest, with both teams exchanging early points. Ayan Lohchab quickly made his presence felt with aggressive raids and tackles. The Haryana Steelers’ defense, bolstered by contributions from Hardeep and Rahul Sethpal, managed to keep pace initially. However, the Patna Pirates, led by Ayan’s impactful play and a crucial tackle from Balaji D, took an 8-6 lead. Rahul Sethpal responded with a Super Tackle for the Steelers, but the Pirates soon inflicted the first ALL OUT of the game, extending their lead. The Steelers fought back with strong defensive plays from Hardeep and offensive efforts from Shivam Patare. Ayan Lohchab reached his Super 10, briefly restoring a four-point lead for Patna. However, Sahil Narwal’s Super Tackle and Vinay’s subsequent raid leveled the scores. The Steelers then took the lead heading into the final ten minutes, outscoring the Pirates by seven points in the third quarter. In a tense final stretch, Jaideep Dahiya’s consecutive tackles and Vinay’s decisive ALL OUT secured a four-point lead for the Steelers with minutes remaining.
