Head Coach Gautam Ghai Urges Focus on Asian Games After Series Win

After India wrapped up a clean 3‑0 T20 series victory over Afghanistan, head coach Gautam Ghai addressed the media in New Delhi, emphasizing that the triumph should serve as a springboard rather than a destination.

Ghai, who will not travel to the Asian Games, called on players to redirect their energies toward the continental competition, where India is the defending gold‑medal champion. He highlighted the importance of maintaining the winning mentality while preparing for the different challenges the Asian Games will present.

The coach’s message was reinforced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) social media release, which showcased physiotherapist Komlesh Jain presenting the Impact Player award to left‑arm spinner Akshar Patel.

Patel, who bowled a tidy spell of three overs for nine runs and took two wickets in the final match, accepted the recognition and spoke about the team’s collective pride. He also pledged that the squad will continue to build on its success ahead of the Asian Games.
