Health and Anti‑Addiction Message Drives Udhampur Half Marathon

Udhampur's debut half‑marathon served as a platform to spread messages of wellness and a drug‑free society. Organized by Devika Sports India, the race saw about 1,000 runners across three distance categories.

MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia, speaking at the inauguration, linked the event to the national Fit India initiative and the broader anti‑addiction drive. He thanked the army, local administration and supporting organisations for their contributions.

Runners reported a surge in community spirit and heightened awareness of healthy living. One participant noted that such events help embed the anti‑substance message into everyday life, encouraging more people to adopt active lifestyles.
